You’ll be given general anesthesia before your procedure, so you’ll be asleep during the surgery and won’t feel any pain.
Most of the time, a duodenal switch is performed as an inpatient procedure, meaning you’ll stay at the hospital or surgery center for at least a day or two as your medical team monitors you for complications.
