I do not recommend this surgery center. I was scheduled to have rotator cuff surgery this morning. I have been in contact constantly with my surgery coordinator, who had me fill out forms, Covid screening, scheduling, etc. etc. I asked on numerous occasions to make sure the anesthesiologist, facility, and doctor where in my network for Blue Cross Blue Shield. I have very good insurance and have always been happy with them. I was told by my surgery coordinator that I would owe the doctor roughly $500 out of pocket for the procedure, months in advance of the surgery. When I got to this surgery center this morning at 7am (after fasting, and getting my life in order to be down recovering for 6-8 weeks), the girl at the desk told me that my part of the facility cost would be $3500+ as I am about to have the surgery. The Anesthesiologist was supposed to have called me the night before, (according to the surgery packet I was given) but he never called. I had the money for this surgery, that was not the issue. It was the lack of communication and surprise of the amount needed, that got me wondering, what other surprises will I be getting? I guess the anesthesiologist was going to come in the room after the IV was administered and tell me his cost. You can’t do this people? I can’t do this on my job either. I am a general contractor. Can you imagine if I was going to do work on your home and showed up with a crew of guys to start working the morning of, and all of sudden tell you it will be an additional $3500? No, you would run me off your property and I would have wasted my time and my guy’s time? These are avoidable problems. This place exercises poor communication skills. They know what is going on, they do this type of work every day. It is just not conveyed to the patient. This gives you no time to shop for a different facility, or make sure they are coding everything properly. Many people had problems with this in the reviews for this place. Do your job people and inform the customer of what is going to happen. You are supposed to be a professional in your field. Act like it!
