My first endoscopy; all went pretty well w/o problems. The biggest issue lies in the price. NOBODY will tell you the true price ahead, not even my Anthem PPO insurance. The online research reveals $1,100 - $3,600 which is a TOTAL NONSENSE ! ! ! The sky-high price for this short procedure is: Hospital serviced $12,718.00; Anesthesia $985.50; Surgery $795.00. I have to explain, I had three biopsies and two dilations as well. So after my unbelievable $5000 yearly deductible and a monthly fee of ±1620 that our wonderful insurance gets,MY COPAY is for this endoscopy $4,634.97; $113.90; $310.40 = a whooping total of $5059.27 ! Another problem is that one month after the endoscopy, I still do not know what is wrong with me. Who makes these way out of date estimates, puzzles me, the reality is much worse! And it will get even worse, because the American health care system is messed up, the greedy billionaires and politicians pocketing from it don’t know when to stop to rip off the hard working people. I am afraid to go the doctors for years due to these way-overpriced - otherwise much lower cost health care, that is not overpriced in the rest of the world.
