Buyer beware! Do your homework first! I went to the Endocenter for help with my dysphagia. I chose Endocenter because the facility and its doctors were on my insurance's list of preferred providers. Dr Jenkins and his staff were very friendly. I was told that I needed an EDG to determine the cause of my dysphagia, so I was scheduled for the procedure. During the scheduling process I was told that my insurance would cover 100% of the costs of the procedure. It was not until months later when I received my EOB and subsequent medical bills totaling almost $2,000 that I discovered that was not accurate. It turns out that the anesthesiologist and the laboratory that the Endocenter elected to utilize were not in my insurance network. I called my insurance company and explained that I was not given a choice for these ancillary providers, but I was told that the choice of ancillary providers was at the discretion of the provider, and that I have no recourse at this point - I have to cover the costs of these providers out of my own pocket.
