Several years ago, we took my son here with severe vomiting in the very early morning hours. The ER doc , a young white man, gave me hell about bringing him to the ER. This was totally wrong of him-he simply didn't want to be called in at 4 am. Now to 2014-Prevost is worse if that is possible. We waited for hours to see a Dr.- 2 hours and 4 more being "treated" with tests and more tests. I went there @ 10am and didn't leave until 3pm after telling them I needed to be some where or was I being kept over night. The black ER doctor and nurses were like the Keystone Cops. The nurse had to clean the examining room as I was already in there with no where to sit. The ER doctor came in 2 or 3 hours later, explained what he was going to do and took HOURS to do very a very small examination, then wanted to do more tests that he didn't mention earlier. These tests would have kept me there until late in the evening and had to be sent else where. I asked him {the doctor} if I was being kept overnight-he said no. It sure seemed that way. The nurse working with him didn't know how to check one of my test results and had left another patients forms in my room earlier and couldn't find them. The said nurse also had a negative opinion of my GP doctor, when I mentioned that I couldn't get an appointment for that day in the Dr.'s office across the street. It took hours to get a simple prescription from them. No prices or payment was mentioned at all. The black Dr.seemed to be messing about-doing what I don't know but he wasn't treating me or the other 2 out patients before me. A white cleaning lady came in @ the end of my ER ordeal to clean the room while I was still in it and said they had several mental patients in the other examining rooms. Myself ,husband, and son were horrified and amazed @ the awful service and treatment @ Prevost. All I can say is-never again. It's St. Elizabeth's in Gonzales for my family and myself.
