Absolutely the worst hospital experience in my life. I was transferred here from Beverly Hospital. Once I arrived, I met with a team of individuals some of whom had already started making decisions for me. They ordered tests that were unnecessary without my knowledge or consent, told me about procedures they intended to perform even before having a diagnosis, and there is an obvious desire to increase the profit margin. For instance, when I arrived from Beverly by ambulance, Beverly had started a heparin drip and a nitroglycerin drip. More than half of the contents remained, but as soon as the drivers left, they changed both drips with new ones. There was a severe lack of communication among the various members of my "care team" and sometimes within minutes of one doctor giving me one direction, another doctor would come in and say we were going in a very different direction. Some of the nurses did not perform their jobs properly. I was on the cardiac ward and the blood pressure cuff would not fully inflate, but just run for a two minutes. It was noisy and I was trying to get some sleep, so I asked the nurse to fix it. She came in and told me she could not find a replacement, so I asked her to just turn it off. She checked my BP at 10:30 pm and did not return for another BP until 6:30 AM. As a nurse for a cardiac patient, BPs are to be checked every hour, so this is unconscionable behavior. (The next day I found a replacement cuff with its hose in a small bucket along with patient toiletries - it had been there the whole time.) Later the heart monitor machine alarm started beeping several times for no apparent reason, so I asked the nurse to come in, but she never did. The following morning while the same nurse was still on, I requested a visit from either the social worker or the chaplain, and neither was ever contacted. I know this because my wife later contacted the chaplain who came to see us, and she confirmed the nurse never contacted her.
